Allgo Mastercard Gift Card – Card Ts&Cs

These terms and conditions apply to your prepaid Allgo Mastercard ® Gift Card. You must read them carefully. In these terms and conditions, the following definitions apply-

  • "You" or “you” means the named Allgo Mastercard ® Cardholder and the authorised user of the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card. 

  • "We", "us" or "our" means Allgo Global Rewards Limited. 

  • “Website” means the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card website www.allgogiftcard.com

  • “Agreement” means the Agreement between you and us which includes these terms and conditions.

  • “Card” means the Mastercard Card Gift Card, a prepaid Mastercard gift card in  Physical, Online Only, or Digital+ formats, or any replacement card which we issue to you from time to time.

  • “Card Transaction” means any transaction whereby the Card is used to pay for goods and/or services

  • “Valid Thru” means the period within which the physical Card is operational and ends on the Valid Thru date, which is the Card expiry date. (A replacement Card will be required to use any funds remaining on the Card after this date.)

1. Your Mastercard Card Gift Card
You can use the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card at any location worldwide that displays the Mastercard Acceptance Mark, including shops, restaurants or on the telephone. Before using the Card, it is your responsibility to ensure that there are sufficient funds loaded on it to cover your purchase. You will not be able to use your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card after its expiry date.

Your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card is not a credit card and is not in any way connected to your bank account. You will not earn any interest on any funds loaded on your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card.

Your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card can be used anywhere worldwide and online where the Mastercard Acceptance Mark is displayed as long as you have activated your card and registered your Card for 3D Secure on allgo.getmybalance.com

2. Purchasing Allgo Mastercard Gift Card
In order to purchase an Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, you must be a representative of a corporate entity. We will require evidence of who you are and your address. We may ask you to provide some documentary evidence to prove this and/or we may carry out checks on you electronically. As the cardholder, you must sign the signature strip on the back of the Mastercard Card Gift Card as soon as it is received.

By purchasing or using the Mastercard Card Gift Card, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.

3. Loading your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card
The amount you can load onto your card is up to a maximum amount of €2,500 following the successful completion of the due diligence requirements. We reserve the right to refuse to accept any particular loading transaction. Upon receipt and clearance, your funds will be available for use on the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card without delay.

4. Registering & Activating your Allgo Physical Mastercard Gift Card

Before using the Card, each card recipient must register their card in an online account accessed via allgo.getmybalance.com AND must unlock their card by entering the same last name as contained in the Order Spreadsheet, plus an Activation Code that Allgo will provide to the Client.

 

For secure online spending, it is recommended that the cardholder enables 3D Secure via allgogiftcard.com by entering their mobile number, which is then used to confirm online purchases by SMS. Full card activation instructions are available on allgogiftcard.com

5. Using your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card
Detailed instructions on how to use your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card are found on the Website. You will need to follow these instructions when using your Card. We will deduct the value of your transactions from the balance on your Card as soon as they are made. We will also deduct any applicable fees as soon as they become payable by you, see our Fees section below for details of our fees. The Allgo Mastercard Gift Card belongs to us.

Card Limits

  • Max Load and Balance: €2,500

  • Min Load: €10 (Physical Cards) / €5 (Online Online Cards and Digital+ Cards)

  • Max number of POS transactions in a 24hr period: 10

Fraud Prevention

For fraud prevention reasons your card usage may be queried, and we may block further usage. In such circumstances, you can simply contact our customer support team on help@allgogiftcard.com or phoning 01 563 4444 (if calling from outside of Ireland +353 1 563 4444) to request to have your card reinstated.

We may ask you to stop using your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card and return it to us or destroy it. We may at any time suspend, restrict or cancel your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card or refuse to issue or replace a Card for reasons relating to the following:

  • we are concerned about security of your account or Allgo Mastercard Gift Card we have issued to you;

  • we suspect your account is being used in an unauthorised or fraudulent manner;

  • or we need to do so to comply with the law or Financial Regulator.

If we do this, we will tell you as soon as we can or are permitted to do so after we have taken these steps. Like other payment cards, we cannot guarantee a retailer will accept your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card. We may also refuse to pay a transaction:

  • if we are concerned about security of your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card or we suspect your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card is being used in an unauthorised or fraudulent manner;

  • If sufficient funds are not loaded on your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card at the time of a transaction to cover the amount of the transaction and any applicable fees;

  • if there is an outstanding Shortfall on the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card in accordance with Section 13 below;

  • if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you are acting in breach of this agreement;

  • if we believe that a transaction is potentially suspicious or illegal (for example, if we believe that a transaction is being made fraudulently); or

  • because of errors, failures (whether mechanical or otherwise) or refusals by merchants, payment processors or payment schemes processing transactions.

If we refuse to authorise a transaction, we will, if practicable, tell you why immediately unless it would be unlawful for us to do so. You may correct any information we hold, and which may have caused us to refuse a transaction by contacting us on help@allgogiftcard.com or phoning +353 (0)1 563 4444.

Digital+ Cards

The Digital+ card is a prepaid, single-load, emailable Mastercard Gift Card can be spent online or instore by the Cardholder adding the card to Google Pay / Apple Pay and then “paying by tapping” their mobile phone. Digital+ Cards are emailed directly to the individual end recipients. Digital+ cards can only be emailed to recipients in EU countries. Recipients redeem and activate their Digital+ cards by downloading the Get My eCard App from Google Play or Apple App Store.

For secure online spending, it is recommended that the cardholder enables 3D Secure via allgogiftcard.com by entering their mobile number, which is then used to confirm online purchases by SMS. Full instructions are available on allgogiftcard.com/digital-plus

Online Only Cards

The Online Only card is a prepaid, single-load, emailable Mastercard Gift Card can be spent online only. Online Only cards are emailed directly to the individual end recipients. Online Only cards can only be emailed to recipients in EU countries.


Before using the Online Only card, each recipient must register their card in an online account accessed via allgogiftcard.com AND must unlock their card by entering the same last name as contained in the Order Spreadsheet, plus an Activation Code that Allgo will provide to the Client.

For secure online spending, it is recommended that the cardholder enables 3D Secure via allgogiftcard.com by entering their mobile number, which is then used to confirm online purchases by SMS. Full card activation instructions are available on allgogiftcard.com/online-only

6. Authorising Transactions
The authorisation of a transaction can include authorising any single transaction, a series or recurring transactions (including transactions for an indefinite period) or pre-authorising future transactions of a certain or uncertain amount.

An Allgo Mastercard Gift Card transaction will be regarded as authorised by you where you;

  • authorise the transaction at the point of sale by following the instructions provided by the merchant or retailer to authorise the transaction, which may include:

a) providing the Card details and/ or providing any other details as requested;

b) swiping the Card in the card reader;

c) Adding the Card to your mobile wallet and using the NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality on your mobile phone to make payment

Authorisation for a transaction may not be withdrawn (or revoked) by you after the time it is received. However, the following transactions may be withdrawn if you or an additional Allgo Mastercard Gift Card Cardholder gives notice to the supplier (providing a copy of the notice to us):

  • any transaction which is agreed to take place on a date later than the date it was authorised on, as long as notice was provided no later than the close of business on the business day before the authorisation was due to take place;

 

​We may charge you a fee if a transaction is revoked by you under this condition, please see our fees table in Section 13 below.

 

We will pay the funds required by the retailer or merchant to cover the transactions authorised by you within 3 days of us receiving their request. A transaction (the payment order) will be received as follows:

  • for purchases, at the time we receive the transaction instruction from the merchant acquirer;

  • for other transactions which are communicated directly to us, at the time you ask us to complete the transaction.

If, in relation to;

a) purchases, we receive the transaction instruction from the merchant acquirer; or

b) other transactions communicated directly to us, you ask us to complete the transaction after seven days, the transaction instruction or request will be deemed to have been received by us on the following business day.

7. Cancellation and Expiry of your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card
This agreement will continue indefinitely unless terminated. You, as the purchaser, have a legal right to cancel your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card up to 14 days after you purchase the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card without being charged the Redemption Fee – this 14-day period is known as the “Cooling-Off Period”. 

Unless your Card has been purchased under the Irish Revenue Small Benefit Exemption Scheme, you also have the right to cancel your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card at any time after the 14-day Cooling-Off Period without notice. If you cancel your Card, once all transactions and fees have been deducted, we will arrange for any unused funds to be refunded to you according to the procedure outlined in the “Your Rights to Redemption of Funds and Refunding of Transactions on Your Card” section below. A redemption fee may be charged (see Fees section below).

We can terminate this Agreement for any reason by giving you at least 2 months’ notice on the Website or by whatever means we, in accordance with applicable legislation, deem appropriate at that time.

We may also cancel this agreement or suspend your card or account immediately if we believe your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card is deliberately being used by you to commit fraud or for other illegal purposes. If we do this, we will tell you as soon as we are permitted to do so. If we cancel your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, you must tell us what you want us to do with any unused funds within three months of the date we tell you your Card is cancelled. We may request that the corporate entity that purchased the Card consents to the method of refund.

If your Card is cancelled, we will immediately block your Card so it cannot be used. You will not be entitled to a refund of money you have already spent on transactions authorised, or pending or any fees for use of the Card before the Card is cancelled or expires. You can cancel your Card by sending an email to us using the “contact us” function on the Website, and confirming that you have destroyed your Card.

If we cancel your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, once all transactions and fees have been deducted, we will arrange for any unused funds to be refunded to you. See "Your Rights to Redemption of Funds and Refunding of Transactions on Your Card" section below for further information. A Refund Fee may be charged (see Fees section below).

Your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card will be valid for a minimum of 5 years, and your Card expiry date will be displayed on the front of your Card as the “Valid Thru” date.

On expiry of your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, you will not automatically be provided with a replacement card however you may contact us to seek redemption of the remaining funds on your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card by following the process described at Section 11.

When we issue a replacement Card we may charge a fee. Please section 13 for a summary of fees.

8. Keeping your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card Secure
You should treat your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card like cash. If it is lost or stolen, or if your card details are lost or stolen, you may lose some or all of the funds on your Card, in the same way as if you lost cash in your wallet or purse. 

As a result, you must keep your Card safe by –

  • signing the back of the card immediately upon receipt of the card.

  • taking all reasonable care and precaution in the custody of the Card and keeping your Card safe;

  • never giving your Card number or any other Card information to anyone unless you know who they are and why they need them.

 

We recommend that you check the balance on your Card regularly online at the Website. We will provide you with your Card balance and a statement of recent transactions either by electronic means or on our secure webpage at any time. Your statement will show:

  • information relating to each Allgo Mastercard Gift Card transaction which will enable it to be identified;

  • the amount of the Card transaction shown in the currency in which the transaction was paid or debited to the account;

  • the amount of charges for the transaction

  • the date the transaction is authorised or posted on to the account.

We also recommend that you protect your Card from scratches and exposure to magnets which may damage the Card and result in it not being readable when presented as a form of payment.

9. Lost and Stolen Allgo Mastercard Gift Cards and Unauthorised Payments
In the event of a lost or stolen Card, or lost or stolen card numbers, or for a transaction that you don’t believe you authorised, you should block your card immediately by logging into your account on the Website and placing a block on your Card, or by contacting us to block your Card for you. It is your responsibility to provide the card numbers in order to block the Card. By blocking the Card, you prevent any remaining funds on the Card being spent.

You may also contact us without undue delay, or in any case not more than 90 days following the transaction, to report the Card lost or stolen or if you think a transaction has been incorrectly executed by calling us on our Lost & Stolen Helpline +353 (0)1 513 3656 or by sending an email to help@allgogiftcard.com. In order to report a transaction this way you MUST know the 16-digit card number.

You will bear the full loss of any transaction resulting from the use of your lost or stolen Card or card numbers if the disputed transaction was authorised by you, or you have acted fraudulently or with gross negligence (for example by failing to keep your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card secure).
The balance of your blocked Card can be transferred to a replacement Card, subject to the completion of any transaction investigations, and on the payment of the appropriate Replacement Card fee (see section 13). Before we issue a replacement card, we may also seek confirmation from the corporate entity that purchased the Card.

10. Our Liability
We will not be liable for any loss arising from:

  • any cause which results from abnormal or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, consequences which would have been unavoidable despite all our efforts to the contrary; or

  • a retailer refusing to accept your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card; or

  • our compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;

  • loss or corruption of data unless caused by our wilful default.

We are also not liable for:

  • business interruption, loss of revenue, goodwill, opportunity or anticipated savings; any indirect or consequential loss.

 

11. Your Rights to Redemption of Funds and Refunding of Transactions on Your Card

Redeeming the funds on your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card
Unless your Card has been purchased under the Irish Revenue Small Benefit Exemption Scheme, you have the right to redeem the funds on your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card at any time in whole or in part. To do so, please either send us an email using the “contact us” facility on the Website or contact us by telephone on +353 (0)1 563 4444, requesting redemption and indicating the amount to be redeemed. 

If you request redemption of all funds on your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, please confirm in writing that you have destroyed your Card by cutting it up. When we process your redemption request, we may require you to provide us with documents such as identification so that we may process your request in accordance with legal requirements. We may also seek confirmation from the corporate entity that purchased the Card. Card redemptions are subject to a redemption fee (see Section 13).

If your card has been purchased under the Irish Revenue Small Benefit Exemption Scheme, you may not redeem the funds on your card.

We will not redeem the value of the funds on your card to you if your request for redemption of the funds is more than six years after the date of termination or expiry of this agreement.

 

Refunding Transactions
You may be entitled to claim a refund in relation to transactions where:

  • the transactions were not authorised under this agreement;

  • we are responsible for a transaction which was incorrectly executed notified us in accordance with section 8 above;

  • a pre-authorised transaction did not specify the exact amount at the time of its authorisation and the amount charged by a supplier is more than you or an additional Cardholder could reasonably have expected taking into account normal spending patterns on the Card or the circumstances of the transaction.

A claim for a refund in the circumstances set out above will not be accepted if the amount of the transaction was made available to you at least four weeks before the transaction date or it is made more than 8 weeks after being debited to your account.

We will arrange the refund to your Card or to a replacement Card. However, to enable us to comply with our legal obligations, we may ask you to provide us with certain information before we can process your refund request. We may also seek confirmation from the corporate entity that purchased the Card.

 

12. Changes to these Terms
We may change these terms at any time by posting the change to our Website. The up-to-date version of the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card terms and conditions will always be available on the Website. The change will automatically take effect and you will be taken to have accepted the notified change unless you tell us that you do not agree to the change. In that event, we will treat that notice as notification that you wish immediately to terminate. In such circumstances we will refund any balance on the card in accordance with section 11 above and section 13 below.

When you have transactions in a currency other than the base currency of the card, in order to ensure that the most accurate exchange rate is used, we make the exchange immediately to convert the foreign transaction into the base currency of the card. 

13. Card Fees
We do not charge any fees for checking your online balance and transactions. However, the following fees do apply:

If we decide to increase or impose any new fees, we will notify you by at least 1 month before any changes take effect by posting the change to our website.

Authorisation will be requested for all transactions at the time of each transaction. In the unlikely event, for any reason whatsoever, a transaction is completed when there are insufficient funds on the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card for that transaction (a "Shortfall"), the Shortfall shall be reimbursed by you unless it is due to an error on the part of the retailer where the Card was presented, in this circumstance we may seek the Shortfall from the retailer.

You agree that once we make this Shortfall known to you, we may charge you for the Shortfall amount. We may charge the amount of the shortfall from any other Allgo Mastercard Gift Cards that you hold with us, to any other payment method which you may designate at that time. 

You also agree that any reasonable costs incurred by us in pursuing the Shortfall refund from you will be borne by you and paid to us within one month of notification of the costs incurred.

14. Your Details
You must let us know as soon as possible if you change name, address, phone number or email address. If we contact you in relation to your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, for example, to notify you that we have cancelled your Card or to send you a refund by cheque, we will use the most recent contact details you have provided to us. Any e-mail to you will be treated as being received as soon as it is sent by us. We will not be liable to you if your contact details have changed and you have not told us.

15. Account Access
For corporate accounts, a designated account contact may be given access to view all card loads. There will be some circumstances where agreements have been put in place with the corporate that viewing access will be given to the designated contact of the transactions on the card. In the event of queries which cannot be resolved through the online web portal in regards to transactions on a card they should be directed to help@allgogiftcard.com.

16. Data Protection
In purchasing the Allgo Mastercard Gift Card and using it, you agree that we can use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy is set out on our Website, it includes details of the personal information that we collect, how it will be used, and who we pass it to. You can tell us if you don't want to receive any marketing materials from us.

17. Disputes with Retailers
If you have any disputes about purchases made using your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, you should settle these with the person you bought the goods or services from. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality or any other aspect of any goods or services purchased with your Card. Once you have used your Card to make a purchase we cannot stop that transaction. Your card is not a credit or debit card and does not provide you with any protection under the Consumer Protection Act 1974.

18. Communication
If you have an enquiry relating to your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card, you can use the "Contact Us" facility on the Website. We will deal with your enquiry promptly. If you do not wish to enquire in this way you can alternatively call our customer service telephone line on +353 1 563 4444, or if your card has been lost or stolen, on +353 (0) 1683 2376. Calls are charged at your local call rate.

19. Complaints
The Allgo Mastercard Gift Card programme is managed by Allgo Global Rewards Limited. If you are unhappy in any way with your Card or the way it is managed, tell us by using the e-mail enquiry facility on the Website so we can investigate the circumstances for you. Any complaints you have will be dealt with quickly and fairly. 20. Security of Funds
The Allgo Mastercard Gift Card is an e-money product issued by EML Money DAC and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. 

All funds loaded onto Allgo Mastercard Gift Cards are deposited in a bank account which is separate and segregated from the assets of EML Money DAC and Allgo Global Rewards Limited. This means, in the unlikely event of either EML or Allgo becoming insolvent, the funds on your Card are protected and will be available for return to cardholders.

The Irish Deposit Guarantee Scheme does not cover claims made in connection with the issuing of electronic money.

21. Assignment
We may assign the benefit and burden of these terms and conditions to another company at any time, on giving you 1 month’s prior notice of this on the Website. If we do this, your rights will not be affected.

22. Transfer to a new Prepaid Card
We may transfer your unused balance to a new Card provided by a Card issuer other than EML Money DAC at any time. Before we do this, we will give you 1 months’ notice of the new Card arrangements and the new Card terms and conditions on the Website. Unless you advise us within the one month period that you do not want a new Card from the new Card issuer, you agree that we can automatically transfer the unused balance on your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card to a new Card provided by the new Card issuer.

23. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the law of the Republic of Ireland and is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish Courts. All communications under this Agreement will be in English.

24. Allgo Mastercard Gift Card Issuer
The e-money associated with your card is issued by EML Money DAC whose principle office is, 2nd Floor, La Vallee House, Upper Dargle Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, which is authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (register Ref: C95957). The Allgo Mastercard Gift Card is issued by EML Money DAC pursuant to a licence by Mastercard International Incorporated. Your Allgo Mastercard Gift Card is the property of Allgo and not transferrable to anyone else.
